Audit Manager

Job Summary

The Audit Manager is responsible for managing and supervising the execution of audit engagements for a variety of clients. This includes planning and executing audits, reviewing workpapers and reports, and ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with professional standards. The Audit Manager also plays a key role in developing and maintaining relationships with clients, and providing technical expertise and guidance to staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides strong management through the application of technical skills, leadership abilities, and engagement management experience
  • Maintains solid client relationships, effectively supervises staff and demonstrates a strong commitment to the firm
  • Serves as a resource to directors and staff and provides service assistance and technical expertise as needed
  • Assumes joint responsibility for client relations
  • Projects a positive attitude and enthusiasm, which positively affects the firm morale
  • Assumes responsibility for increasing skills, demonstrating strong organization skills and attention to details
  • Projects a professional image in dress and appearance and is respectful, trusting and understanding of other team members
  • Understands the firm's philosophy and is conversant on, follows and respects the firm's standards, policies, practices and procedures
  • Seeks opportunities to assist the firm through participation in CPA America and other industry programs or leadership opportunities
  • Assists as requested with special projects in areas such as administration, scheduling, billing, performance reviews, CPE, practice management and human resources
  • Assists with compliance of peer review requirements, legal, professional and ethical standards
  • Successfully manages multiple engagements, as well as large, complex, multi-location projects and brings them to timely completion
  • Assumes all responsibilities for all types of engagements, including deadlines, planning, executing, supervision, reviewing and other decisions - ensuring that the work performed is in line with the budget
  • Works with minimal supervision and identifies major problems to discuss with partners before making decisions
  • Properly sets the scope of new engagements, assisting partners in establishing billing structures and pricing strategies
  • Performs timely and thorough reviews of accounting and tax workpapers and reports, ensuring that all significant accounting, auditing, tax and reporting matters have been identified, resolved and documented in accordance with firm policies and standards
  • Ensures that all time incurred on a project is properly charged to the project
  • Prepares and delivers timely billings, including analyzing costs incurred to identify services that justify additional billings as well as identifying efficiencies to be obtained
  • Assists with collections of client billings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Aptitude for meeting deadlines and effectively managing workload under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
